Peninsula Research Associates (PRA) is dedicated to improving medical treatments through the use of innovative techniques and awareness. PRA strives to educate patients on a vast array of health-related issues with the goal of enriching the quality of life and creating the potential for new opportunities.

Who We Are

PRA was established in 1999 by Lawrence Sher, M.D., Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics, University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, and the principal investigator in most of the center’s research studies. Board certified in pediatrics and adult/pediatric allergy, asthma and immunology, Dr. Sher has been in private practice in the South Bay area since 1987.

Alissa is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with extensive experience in clinical research across pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations. As an Investigator at PRA, she leverages her expertise to support diverse areas of clinical trials to support advancements in healthcare.

What We Do

PRA works in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry to conduct year-round clinical research studies with a goal of improving treatments, and outcomes, for patients suffering from a broad range of conditions. These include, but are not limited to: asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic respiratory disorders, ADHD, diabetes, sleep disorders and hyperlipidemia, as well as the use of antibiotics in relation to new resistances in bacteria.

PRA has earned a reputation for conducting quality research studies and achieved significant study results in allergy, asthma, otitis media and sinusitis treatment.
